Coaching Approach
Sustainable peak performance requires more than working harder or knowing what you should do differently.
I specialise in the psychology of sustainable peak performance. I help high-performing professionals, leaders and organisations move beyond what has made them successful so far and move towards their greater potential.
Central to my approach is the belief that it is almost impossible to accelerate meaningfully unless we are willing to look at where we have been.
Our previous experiences shape how we lead, respond to pressure, relate to authority, manage risk and judge our own capability. They influence the strategies we rely on and the patterns we repeat, often outside conscious awareness. Some of these patterns will have contributed significantly to success. Others may begin to constrain performance as responsibilities and ambitions increase.
Understanding the past is not about becoming stuck in it. It allows us to recognise what is still useful, address what is getting in the way and make more deliberate choices about what comes next.
My approach draws on over 25 years of experience delivering and researching psychological and coaching services, alongside my own experience of leading teams. I integrate coaching psychology with expertise in leadership, organisational culture and behaviour change, cognitive optimisation and somatic psychology.
This allows me to work beyond surface-level strategies.
Sometimes the challenge is external: stepping into greater authority, leading through change, navigating organisational culture, managing competing demands or sustaining performance under considerable pressure.
At other times, the obstacle is internal. Imposter syndrome, perfectionism, over-responsibility, avoidance, a low sense of agency, a fixed mindset, loss of confidence or established responses to pressure can begin to limit someone whose capability is not in question.
There are also times when a previously high-performing person simply is not performing as they know they can. Rather than treating this as a motivation or productivity problem, we work to understand what has changed, what is interfering with performance and what will enable their potential to emerge again.
A highly tailored approach.
There is no scripted coaching process.
We identify what is happening, explore the psychological and organisational factors maintaining it, and select the approach most likely to create meaningful change. This may involve strategic coaching, behavioural change, cognitive optimisation, somatic approaches or work focused specifically on leadership and performance.
The aim is not simply to solve the immediate problem. It is to help high performers develop the self-awareness, psychological flexibility and capacity required to realise more of their potential and to perform, lead and adapt sustainably as demands increase.
My clients include C-suite executives, partners in leading law firms, senior professionals, entrepreneurs, best-selling authors, renowned medical consultants and others operating in demanding, high-performance environments.
